Rehabilitation

Therapeutic exercises for the neck, back, and extremities are an essential part of the rehabilitative process following injury. Chiropractic doctors commonly prescribe specific strengthening, stabilizing and stretching exercises for their patients with back, neck and extremity problems. Initially, these exercises prevent muscle deterioration and promote joint health. Later on, they help to increase strength and stability to prevent new injuries or recurrences.

Therapeutic stretching is important to prevent scar tissue and adhesion formation following injury. Maintaining a regular stretching program once the rehabilitation stage of treatment has been completed will help keep tissues flexible and loose, increasing mobility and preventing the development of new injuries.

Other physical techniques may also be used in rehabilitation, including muscle stimulation, interferential stimulation, ultrasound, ice and heat.

Your doctor may also evaluate your workplace environment and make simple modifications to facilitate your healing process outside the office.

Cold Laser Therapy

Cold Laser Therapy is a treatment whereby a cold laser is utilized to treat chronic and acute pain. Cold laser therapy may be used for patients suffering from back and neck pain, musculoskeletal pain, joint pain associated with arthritis, fibromyalgia, tendinitis, bursitis, neuropathy, achilles tendon pain, migraine headaches, sprains and strains, carpal tunnel and other associated pains. Cold laser therapy also treats conditions such as TMJ, reflex sympathetic dystrophy (RSD) and other inflammatory and scarring conditions. By increasing serotonin levels, cold laser therapy contributes to the body's own healing processes. Non-thermal and noninvasive, cold laser therapy involves a combination of cold laser and electric stimulation and is one of the most effective healing therapies. Completed in ten to twelve sessions, cold laser therapy can significantly reduce treatment time and costs.

Cold Laser Therapy uses a hand held, noninvasive, light-emitting medical device to treat conditions including:
