Dr. Shara Posner MS DC
Dr. Shara Posner entered the University of Maryland as a College Park Scholar and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology. Kinesiology is the study of human bodies in motion. While pursuing this degree she interned with a local chiropractor in Virginia and found her true calling. She was accepted at the University of Bridgeport, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Doctorate of Chiropractic. Dr. Posner's interest in total body wellness led her to obtain her Masters of Science in Nutrition concurrently with her chiropractic degree. Her postgraduate studies resulted in obtaining a certification in Kinesiotaping.The Kinesio Taping® Method is a definitive rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints. Dr. Shara also employs several soft tissues techniques to help rehabilitate sports and repetitive stress injuries.Lastly, Dr. Posner was voted by her patients as The Best of Alexandria for 2007.
Dr. Angela Tamsett DC
Dr. Angela Tamsett is a 2007 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, California. She received her B.A. degree from the University of Kansas in Exercise Science. A lifelong learner committed to holistic wellness, Dr. Angela utilizes a variety of techniques to help her patients obtain pain relief and achieve optimum health benefits. Dr. Angela enjoys working with her patients to find the best treatment plan tailored for their individual needs ranging from sports injuries, motor vehicle accidents, work-related injuries, and low back pain to simply wanting to gain from the positive benefits of regular chiropractic care. A former swimmer with a passion for balanced nutrition and exercise, she values sharing her expertise with others who seek to live healthy lifestyles. Dr. Angela is board certified in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Joanie Stewart L Ac, DOM
Joanie Stewart, Acupuncture Physician, Doctor of Oriental Medicine. Dr. Joanie most recently worked at the prestigious St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital, Center for WellBeing in Savannah, GA. Before that Joanie was in private practice in Sarasota, FL, where she graduated from the East West College of Natural Medicine. She has worked in both Eastern and Western medicine for more than 20 years, as a medical writer for CBS/Medscape (now WebMD), editorial director at the former Lifetime Medical Television, and as a Yoga therapist and instructor. Crystal Craighead LMT
A 2002 graduate of the nationally recognized Potomac Massage Training Institute in Washington , DC, Crystal is a Virginia State Certified (licensed) Massage Therapist. In addition to being a licensed massage therapist in Virginia, Crystal is a professional member of the American Massage Therapy Association and is trained in the therapeutic benefits of Swedish Relaxation, Deep Tissue Therapeutic, Pre-Natal and Post Partum, Hot Stone, and Corporate/Event Chair Massage. Crystal promotes the delivery of the "client centered" approach to her bodywork. She is recognized in her abilities to work with sensitivity, compassion, and skill.
Stacie Bansbach CLMT
Stacie Bansbach is a 1998 graduate of the Advanced Fuller School of Massage Therapy in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She holds massage licenses in Virginia, Washington D.C., and Missouri. She is a Licensed Certified Massage Therapist (LCMT), a member of the American Massage Therapy Association, and nationally certified through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. She specializes in Swedish, Deep Tissue and Prenatal massage. As a military wife of 15 years, she previously worked in Virginia, Rhode Island, and overseas in Sicily. She offers custom massages tailored towards her client’s individual needs, incorporating a variety of techniques including Cranial Sacral Therapy, Reflexology and Trigger Point Therapy. I feel that it is important to listen to my clients and find out what they hope to achieve through Massage Therapy. It is important to me not only to treat the symptoms of my clients, but also to treat the whole person in order to achieve complete wellbeing.
Joy Palmer LMT
Joy recently joined the Back to Health family as a Licensed and Certified Massage Therapist. She received her bodywork training in Virginia Beach, VA and has been practicing massage professionally for over six years. Wwhile she has received training in various modalities, Joy specializes in deep tissue therapy. She takes great pride in giving clients a therapeutic massage that fits their needs and comfort level.
Heide RokniLMT
Heide, a licensed clinical social worker who provides neurofeedback and psychotherapy, is a graduate of Potomac Massage Training Institute. Being a massage therapist has been a natural step for her as she expands and integrates her knowledge of the mind-body-spirit connection, which she regards as essential to optimal health. Massage goes beyond soothing muscle aches -- it's also revitalizes the mind and restores the spirit. Heide has a great deal of experience working one-on-one with clients, and she brings her nurturing presence to each massage.
